1.Yes
2.Never tried.
3.It comes close, but no.
4.Neptune, before the astronomers start calling that a dwarf planet.
5.No. Too many reasons.
6.What kind of level 80s? none in wow, though.
7.Its a war. Between the Spanish. And the Americans.
8.Washington
9.Never played them.
10.What?
11.Um...none. If you are looking for the worst movie based on a book, then Eragon would be my choice.
12.Bob Georgenstien? Maybe?
13.Umm...Maybe?
14.I don't think i can answer that.
15.No.
16.Helped make is more like it. It's still alive and it is called Nepotism. Nobody except for me and the guildmates seem to know what that means.
17.Maybe.
18.Depends on the puppy.
19.In terms of...well I think that I am better than you at being random.
20.Tomatoes filled with love coming to sell you a house of pancakes.

1) I do not - anymore. This makes something like the fifth time I quit. I really mean it this time.
2) As fast as I can peel off the colored stickers and restick them into an aesthetically pleasing configuration.
3) (has not seen any of the Star Wars movies)
4) Mercury! It's so little and rocky and impudent, and you might have some fun tossing it into the Sun. What fun could you get out of Neptune, except maybe peeling away its gas layers like cotton candy?
5) Well, he did crib all his plots from other sources. So really what he has going for him is style, and it may be the case that more people promote Shakespeare's genius than actually understand what he's doing with his style.
6) One - and a stableful of alts.
7) Poor planning on Spain's part.
8) A few times I had a plane layover in Anchorage.
9) (has never played Final Fantasy)
10) Not engaging by itself, but certainly interesting, in a sort of anthropological-study way. Then again, I'm a roleplayer.
11) (does not watch movies)
12) You've got me here, and I will nobly restrain the urge to look up the information in an attempt to seem more learned than I am.
13) It depends what colors it is in close proximity to. Most of the time I'm pretty neutral about it.
14) What?
15) No.
16) Two: Tribe Varielas, which lasted a bit over nine months until I quit the game the first time, and Eilon Kaerannis, which lasted... technically it's still together, but its active period lasted a bit more than a year and a half, surviving two more of my attempts to quit.
17) No.
18) They're too... pushy and eager and drooly to conjure any positive thoughts for me. Cats please.
19) Who could ever be better than you, O sublime epitome of destruction?
20) Seven-card hand, one less every time you mulligan.

I can not be bothered to answer all the questions, as it is very late and will do it later. However, question 10 grabs my intrest...

From a completely OOC standpoint, would you not be writing this blog were it not for the fact that you DID like to plot?

Tuscansalami said...

1. Considering one would probably have to have some sort of interest in WoW to have stumbled across here in the first place...

2. Depends on how long it takes me to pry off the blocks and rearrange them or the stickers. Oh, wait - you mean without cheating?

3. Nothing lives up to the originals.

4. Mercury's the hottest and being the closer, provides a better view for the resultant fireworks. Neptune would probably just pop unsatisfyingly like a balloon.

5. Yes - three years of studying him in English for high school is torture enough. I reckon that if he were alive, he'd think that people read too many meanings into what he wrote.

6. One. Particularly due to being an achievement whore.

7. Never heard of it before this question - stuff like that doesn't seem interesting when you live on the opposite side of the world from all that sort of hullabaloo.

8. Canberra, Australia. Can't say I travel much.

9. Aeris/Aerith's death in VII only made for rabid fanboy rumours and is mostly ignored for the rest of the game (with the exception of Advent Children). All that CGI cannot ever compare to the emotion in Celes' attempted suicide scene in VI. Or her role in the opera earlier on. 3D was the newfangled kid on the block, but VI was a veteran of the 16-bit era and Square knew how to use it to it's fullest potential.

10. Of course it's engaging - but then again, I don't go around saying 'lorelol' and picking at inconsistencies either. As for what's medically wrong with me, I do have a touch of the flu...

11. That's a toughy. Hmmm...
The original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sin City spring to mind. Contrary to popular belief, definitely NOT Jurassic Park though - whilst it was a good enough movie, it seemed so empty and sparse compared to the depth of the book.

12. Mother and grandmother? That and/or wife to the Lord Mayor of Weil der Stadt.

13. Certainly not unappealing at least, especially when it comes to burning things.

14. McDonalds.

15. Uh, yes? Never studied/was good at history, let alone current events that aren't WoW related.

16. Never had the need/want to create my own guild, as the one I've been in for the past three or four years has been just peachy. And with only playing one character, that leaves all the rest of the character slots for bank/AH alts, without the need to rely on a guild bank for space.

17. If not written, at least spoken by him in the sermons and then recorded down. Perhaps he made notes beforehand as well? One way or another, he's responsible for it.

18. Fuzzy, soft, never cease yapping when you want to sleep and make squishy piles of ick everywhere. Having been in the same house as a litter that was born, it was bad enough for the duration that they were there, even if I didn't have to deal with them personally.

19. Not at anything that I know you're capable of.

20. The deal is not done until it is signed.

1.) Yeah
2.) I've never actually solved one so...
3.) For what it was I really enjoyed Revenge of the Sith, but I'm not sure if I'd put it down as better than the original trilogy
4.) Both, why would someone as powerful and awesome as you have to settle for just one?
5.) I hope I don't get obliterated, but I'm not a huge Shakespeare fan
6.) 2 - Boomkin and Demonology Warlock :D I <3 them
7.) It would've been a lot more fun with copious amounts of chocolate syrup.
8.) I think Quebec City is the farthest North I've been.
9.) Never played either so I'm gonna say KOTOR is better than them both
10.) I love the plot of WoW!! And there's too much mentally wrong about me, medically speaking, talk about
11.) Twilight, the less time you have to spend taking in that shit the better
12.) Car Dealer
13.) It revs me like an engine
14.) Both at once!!!! DUH!!!
15.) Only on Tuesdays
16.) Yes, it was called Studly Muffins and it lasted until my friends and I changed servers.
17.) Maybe?
18.) YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

20.) NO DEAL HOWIE

1) Going on 5 years.
2) Never solved one the right way.
3) No
4) Mercury. You could use Neptune as a sort of prison for failure minions. Not that they'd live long, but it's the thought that counts.
5) Misunderstood? Yeah. Over-used? Definitely. Over-rated? Hell no.
6) Umm...5. >.>
7) Dumb people beating each other up, IMO. And I'm from Texas, so that says something.
8) Oklahoma, I think. I don't travel much.
9) Tuscan stole my rant about Aeris, hell. He/she stole pretty much everything I was going to say. See their response.
10) Yes. I spend way more time arguing it than I should. My friends and I can (and have) gone on for entire work shifts. As to what's wrong with me...What ISN'T wrong with me?
11) Where The Red Fern Grows.
12) I have no idea. And a Google search only brings up this page. >.>
13) Not really. Green, Black and Silver are my colors.
14) WTB threesome? (Yes, I'm female.)
15) I think he wanted to be. And he tried very hard. But in the end, he failed.
16) I did on the Wrath Beta, yes.
17) I thought all the books in that fairytale collection were written by god? Man just transcribed.
18) Only if they haven't been shaved.
19) Only at groveling. I don't see you needing to know how to grovel.
20) Failboat. And Waffles.

10. I'm way too into the story. I can't get out. I know too much! The story is entertaining and epic in it sown way. Medically, I'm addicted to caffeine.
11. Hard to say, but the pacing in the Lord of the Rings movies was much better than the book (I like the constant hewing, though).
12. Lord Mayor of a German town.
13. I do like tangerines and apricots! ...And the flames licking off the corpses of my enemies! (;>.>)

Ooh! Ooh! Delurking for a survey!

1. Yes

2. Roughly ten minutes. I only recently learned how, so I'm not up to speed runs yet... and it's been a while, so I'll probably have to check my notes.

3. Only Episode 1: Anakin's a Wuss, and Episode 2: George Lucas Makes Me Cry

4. Neptune, God of the Sea. Mercury's cool, he's got wings on his feet

5. I don't think so. His work has varied levels of intricacy where you can just watch a really great story, or take the time to analyze

6. Just 1, I play too many alts

7. Didn't the US get a really cool theme song during that war?

8. Probably Toronto, Canada

9. I've always thought VII was good, but overhyped. VI has always been my favorite in the series, and I even sing along to the bleeps and bloops of the opera scene

10. Typically only when there are major plot lines that span any length of time/quests. Simple one-shot "fetch me 10 wolf skins" are boring, but hitting Hellfire Peninsula and finding Orcs who never came to Azeroth was neat. For the Horde!

11. The Shawshank Redemption, while being only a short story, fell far below the movie, in my opinion. Stephen King wrote a neat little prison escape story, but the movie actually gave the characters depth, so you couldn't help but cheer when Andy Dufresne screwed the warden in the end

12. Botanist. Uh, that's my final answer.

13. Despite it's closeness to Red, an angry color, on the visual spectrum, I usually find orange sort of calming

14. Bah, George was always awesome after he performed open heart surgery in an elevator

15. I'm sure he would have put a little money on the side, if he was a gambling man

16. No, though I've wanted to, just to be able to wear a guild tag like it was a title

17. In your opinion, was the Book of Deuteronomy written by Moses?

18. Sure, if you like poop everywhere

19. No, my liege! Of course not!

20. Full House

10. Engaging enough to enjoy. Read all the novels, liked the ones with you in it, even if your fiery ass was kicked in the end. Oh, and that thing you did with being in Aegwynn's womb with Medivh? Creepy! You leave my medical history alone.
11. First thing that comes to mind are the Chronicles of Narnia, because the movies were very engaging, but it's been forever since I read the books (or had them read to me) so it's hard to say for sure.
12. I do not, and Google is sooo... far... away...
13. It works for you, if that's what you're asking >>}8^O
14. McSteamy. Of course.
15. Couldn't tell you. I thought it was the Germans...
16. I have created a couple alt/bank guilds, but inherited the main one I'm in, War Within A Breath, which I'm told was the first one created on the Azuremyst server when BC came out.
17. Who can really know for sure?

3. No. Not even a little bit. It was the best of the new trilogy, but that means very little. That's like saying "Oh yeah, gonorrhea is the best STD to get since it's so treatable." That doesn't change the fact that you got the friggin clap!
4. Depends on your purpose, if you want to destroy all life in the solar system, I'd go for Mercury. Smash it right into the sun, it's a 2-for-1 deal that kills off everything in the solar system. However, if you're just going for fun, Neptune all the way. All that methane and ammonia..makes for fun explosions.
5. I don't think so. In his time he was a big success and still to date, almost 400 years after his death, a lot of his works still have relevance.
6. 4-Mage, Pally, Druid, Death Knight. Got a priest who's at 73 and a Shaman at 64..so I'll soon have 6.
7. We got gypped. $20 million for Guam, the Philippines, and Puerto Rico. That's worth 1-2 million *tops*
8. Canada, eh.
9. Before it got overhyped, I would agree. But now it's just far too overplayed. But FFVIII, IX, and IV are just superior.
10. The in-game plot...not so much. They give the tiniest bit of information because they want the brain-dead mouth-breathers to be able to keep up. The actual lore behind the in-game plot, most definitely.
11. Books are always better.

1) I used to. The I got bored, and stopped. Blizzard make too few sloooooow updates that usually brings raid-stuff which I am absolutely uninterested in.

2) In about as long time it takes for Blizzard to make a patch for WoW. About 3-4 months, that is.
I'm not very good with Rubiks cubes.

3) Uuuuhm... no.

4) The gods or the planets?

5) Surely not! It's hilarious to talk in Shakesperian english. Without Shakespeare, this would be totally not possible!

6) Considering I don't currently play WoW, the answer should be none. But then again I used to play WoW, so the answer would actually be two.

7) I... you... that... that's not a question!

8) I totally have never mused upon this question before. I shall do so as soon as possible.

9) Roman numerals? Wait, I know this stuff! Final Fantasy... er... 32 versus Final Fantasy... uhm... 25...? Goodness, I wouldn't know. Consideringt there are like 114 Final Fantasies to begin with, and I've played like one of them, I feel at a loss here.

10) Sometimes, and I've always felt that something involving multiple personalities sounds like fun. I mean, you're never alone!

11) Well, there's always... OH I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE...!

12) I have no idea who that is, so I'm going to go with "butler", because butlers are always either:
1: Awesome
2: The ones who "did it" (presumably murder, not the "doing it" you're thinking of, you filthy bastard)

13) Well it is part of the "awesome explosions and stuff burning" color spectrum, so yes.

14) McDonalds! ...wait, what was the question again?

15) The butler did it.

16) I have not. I prefer other people to do roles involving leading stuff as I find it always has too many similarities to herding kittens. Which is terribly annoying. However, if I did have a guild it would have a sweet name like "Space Hamsters" or maybe Hedgeclipper.

17) Urgh, religion. All those religious people do is get people confused. So I'm going to answer no, because in my world I travel back in time and PUSH ALL THESE PEOPLE OFF A CLIFF so that we wouldn't have to bother with these kind of things anymore.
...Hey, that would make life a bit easier! *Starts inventing a time machine*

18) Yes. Yes they are fuzzy and soft. But you'd never know, Sargeras, because you'd set their fuzziness on fire before you could get a chance to enjoy it, wouldn't you? I know you would.

19) Think? Oh dear, no! I know!

20) I'm not sure I'm aware of this "deal" you speak. Could we perhaps exchange this "deal" for another "deal" where it is more clear what the purpose of the "deal" is more clear?

By the way, TEN bonus points for TWENTY questions? That hardly seems fair, does it! Only half a point per question? I demand at least one point per question!

5) The dude rocks, but ... King has the better horror :)
6) Well, one in my tower. One in my sublevels. And various others in my videogames.
7) It was no world war, so it doesn't count as a real war. It's too small.
8) Denmark
9) Yes! And whoever says something else shall be boiled alive in their own urin.
10) Plot? What plot???
11) I cannot give you what does not exist. At least not in an universe where the standart rules of physics apply. ... Maybe on the Discworld ....
12) WTF????
13) This seems to be a trick question ... so I'm going to say YES.
14) McSteamy. Cool rolemodel.
15) As a german I must say, that in school we learnd some different things about WW2. First: It is always and completly our fault! Second: Every one else is innocent! ... you get the picture. And to sort out a rumor I heard lately: Hitler is most definitely DEAD!!! The bastard would be about 130 by now...
16) Yes, I have. It is still alive. "Velnor's Erben"
17) Well, at least part of it. (wikipedia)
18) Yes they are. That still can't change the fact that they are evil!
19) I think I'm better than anyone. That includes you. Nothing personal, it's a way-of-life-thingy.
20) How should I know? 20 for 65? Buy one, get one free???

Hope I was helpfull :)

3. No. I mean, come on... FIST OF DOOM PADME SMASH!

4. Mercury. I'm a Sailor Moon fan at heart, you see, and although I do love Mercury as a planet and her dress design is really unique she does not get teh sexx0rs on with another character in quite the same way as Neptune. (take that how you will, ha!)

1. I do play WoW, though our relationship could best be described as on and off again.

2. I have never had the patience to get beyond two completed sides. I look at two unified sides and cannot bear to separate each segment from its brother, knowing that I will most likely never unify them again. It’s not that I’m not smart enough, more that I’m too lazy.

3. In view of the fact that I’ve never seen fit to rewatch RotS, I would have to say no. The only competition it might have is Return of the Jedi. RotJ, in spite of the Ewoks, has a number of things going for it, namely Wedge, Lando, the Golden Bikini™, Ian McDiarmid at his creepiest, speeder chase and Scout Troopers. Even the most cringe-worthy bits of RotJ are not as cringe-worthy as those in RotS.

4. I think that you should decide to render Mercury into a fine power for future use in the baking of Quicksilver Dire Scones of Madness. But, as you are about to tear asunder the planet on a subatomic level (I am sure that gluon particles can come in very useful for that old Titan gag of the glued down copper currency) you should change your mind and immerse Neptune in a sea of pain (note the feeble reference to Neptune as god of the sea and understand immediately why you and not I am a writer/blogger). My reasoning is thus: firstly, this course of action would clearly, and yet ironically, highlight your mercurial nature; secondly, as my favorite planet in this solar system is Saturn, I would like to see it returned to the only ringed planet in the system.

5. I shall have to answer this in the mode of Sir Humphrey Appleby. Yes--and no (though I shall address my opinions in reverse order.

No he is not: I think that Shakespeare is an amazing poet and dramatist. That is not to say that he didn’t steal his plots from others. He is great in that his interpretations are particularly compelling. I think that, where he is concerned, it is not as much what he has written as much as how he has written it. There are some wonderful pieces of drama in his corpus and to say without reservation that he is overrated is to ignore these, I think.

Yes he is: however, I think that there is an annoying “Cult of the Bard” seek to privatize his appeal, to cloister his works in the hallowed halls of academia, high theater, and those moneyed enough to be theater goers. It is in this elevation of Shakespeare to the Olympic and dizzying aerie of “high literature” that he is overrated. Shakespeare’s works were not, in his time, made for the consumption of only an educated upper middle class (a state which I would assert is the case today). They were written to be accessible and entertaining to a broad spectrum of Londeners, including the meanest of people. So in crafting plays which were meant to have wide appeal,

One of the most insidious ways in which the “Cult of the Bard” seeks to fortify the Shakespearian corpus is by a heinous effort to exaggerate the language barrier between us and Elizabethian authors. Like any writer in any language, Shakespeare has a particular style, favorite words and turns of phrase, rhetorical figures which he likes to use. Teachers do not help students to realize that picking up these traits is easy and that it greatly increases reading speed and comprehension. There is not that much that stands between us and Elizabethan English, so long as we have the correct tools to approach it. I think that the burden of this problem lies in teachers who have students read Shakespeare unprepared and thus make it a misery. All teachers would have to do is some preparation of handouts on vocab; non-standard, but recurring, grammatical figures; and perhaps summaries of what is to happen in a scene before reading—handouts which, in the course of their career, could serve them well for years.

6. One.

7. Ummm. Don’t know much about it. Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders fought in Cuba for part of it. Very short war, was the American entrée into international politics. Wait. Didn’t it also have to do with expelling the Spanish from their colonial possessions which were close enough to the US to pose a tactical threat (e.g. the Phillipenes)? Clearly my US history is way too fuzzy.

8. I shall not count transatlantic flights which take you over the pole. It would have to be Sligo, Republic of Ireland.

9. I have never played and Final Fantasy. I am neither proud nor regretful on this point. It is merely a fact.

10. How can one not find engaging such story driven quests as killing ridiculous numbers of Murlocs in the hope that their body might have an eye, of which you have to collect 10. Storytelling at its finest.

11. I hope I offend noone in saying that I thought Casino Royale was a better movie than a book. Ian Fleming is, at best, a second rate author, but the material from this book (much expanded and elaborated) was far better realized. It must be said, of course that this was the first Bond novel, while the movie had the benefit of a long film tradition on which to base itself and against which to define itself. I would also say that watching Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is a far more pleasant and funny experience than reading the book.

12. Of course, I have no idea. But, since I need the internet to post this I looked it up.

According to The Galileo Project, a project run out of Rice University, Kepler's "maternal grandfather, Melchior Guldenmann, was an innkeeper and mayor of the nearby village of Eltingen." All the text provided at the site was provided by Albert Van Helden, Lynette Autrey Professor of History at Rice University. I'd be inclined to take this as well researched. (http://galileo.rice.edu/sci/kepler.html)

13. In pumpkins, yes. In hats, no. In stockings, debatable whether it’s the color or the garment I find visually appealing.

14. I had no idea what you were talking about. Again I looked this up. In this case I do take a bit of pride in the fact that I did not know whence derived this question.

15. A hearty no. He may be passively responsible for not opposing other people at Varsailles. I think that Lloyd George and Clemenceau are more responsible, for it was they who so strongly fought for the most ridiculous provisions of the treaty, and it was these provisions that so humiliated the German people and military that WWII was inevitable. The fact that Germany needed to pay horrendously large reparations to show their contrition angered the German people. The fact that it was the Weimar government who had to pay these reparations, created an internal political climate that undermined Weimar because of poor public opinion. It was only a matter of time before political extremism fanned this latent anger into a wholesale political and ideological war.

In the meantime, Wilson can hardly be blamed for the impotence of the League of Nations. It was his idea and it was a sound idea. Congress is to blame for America’s refusal to participate in the League, and people like Pétain and Chamberlain that the League did nothing to enforce the more important aspects of the treaty. In the meantime, this total ineffectuality, stemming from ineffectual leaders in Europe and total nearsightedness in America, allowed the European members of the Axis to at once strengthen their position and sound out the mindset of their soon to be enemies.

So, in the grand scheme of things, I’d put Wilson fairly far down on the list of people directly responsible for WWII.

4. Mercury. It would be easier, I think, what with the sun nearby.

5. At least for Romeo and Juliet. It's not THAT great. But his other plays aren't so hyped. Take a look at Othello, for example.

6. Zilch. I've only started playing recently after three years of listening to a friend babble on about it. Besides, I have this thing that I like to call a "life".

7. Teddy Roosevelt, Rough Riders... eh, just not a very interesting period. I paid more attention to the Cold War.

8. Northern California to see one of my buddies.

9. You're asking for serious flaming on this one (lol puns). In my humble opinion, FFVII is garbage, but I won't list my reasons unless you ask.

As for medical problems: I am not sure, but 13 different "people" have said it could be [any combination of?] mild Asperger's, mild depression, OCD, anxiety...I guess I am, basically, a psycho-neurotic disaster. :-/

11. "Psycho"? I have heard of the movie, but hadn't heard of the book [that inspired it] for a while.

12. I don't know. Please enlighten me, O' Great Former Titan? :-)

13. Not really, but it's not that bad.

14. Ummm...Translation into Common/Darassian/Draenei, please?

15. There were many factors for WW-II, but Woodrow Wilson was key in creating the League of Nations and the Treaty of Versailles, which actually led to the other causes. For example, the Treaty made Germany unhappy and Hitler preyed on that emotion of the people to rise to power.
So, yeah, Wilson was one of those who were quite directly - not 100.00%, though - responsible.

16. Created one "Bank Alt" guild; still active.
Co-founded many guilds, but left them all since I only signed the charter to create them.
Only one guild I was an active member of; and it is as active today as it was when it was founded.

2. How fast can you solve a Rubik's Cube?

The list goes.

E-V
E-VI
E-III
E-II
E-IV
E-I

Sorry A new Hope is garbage, and The Phantom Menace was worse.

4. If you were me, would you rather smash Neptune or Mercury? Why?

Neptune. It's bigger. It's more of a sense of accomplisment. I mean........ Think about it, would you rather be: "Sargeras the dude who Crushed Neptune" OR "Sargeras, the guy who flicked mercury" I would think that size matters a great deal in your line of work.

5. Is Shakespeare overrated? Explain.

Eh, Everything ends up overrated the older it gets. Just look at Elvis... The older he got, the more he was just a drunk pill popping fat man, but he was still... the king.

6. How many Level 80's do you have?

2.

8. What is the farthest north you have ever been? Earth, not Azeroth.

Toronto.

9. Is Final Fantasy VII better than Final Fantasy VI?

I've never played VI, and I never made it off the first disk of VII. I was a total newb to RPG's and my buddy erased my save file with 30+ hours on first disk. I never started over.

10. Do you find the plot of WoW engaging? If so, what do you think is wrong with you, medically speaking?

Sometimes it is. I'm a total sadist.

11. Give an example of a movie that, in your opinion, was better than the book it was based on.

Stanley Kuprick's The Shining. The book was good, but OH MY GOD THE MOVIE WAS CREEPY! Kuprick took the original story, setting, and characters, and just transformed it into such a masterpiece.

12. What was the occupation of Johannes Kepler's maternal grandfather?

INN KEEPER!

13. Do you find the color orange visually appealing?

Depends on the tone of the color. Sometimes I do, but then there is hunter orange, and it makes me nauseous.

14. McDreamy or McSteamy?

McYourmom?

15. In your opinion, was Woodrow Wilson directly responsible for the outbreak of World War II?

nope. I don't think that he could have done anything that would have changed the way the world was going at that point.
